This regional and international event was designed for nurses and other health professionals. It will take place in Quito from November 10th to November 13th, 2008. The primary objective is to promote research production in: Patient/User Safety, Health Ethics and Primary Health Care in Nursing.

The fields of interest proposed by the Colloquium Organizers are:
• Patient safety
• Health ethics
• Primary Health Care

The evaluation criteria for the research papers are as follows:

1. To be relevant with the Colloquium objectives and topics
2. To have a well-based theoretical/conceptual framework
3. To show relevance in such important areas as Nursing and Health
4. To be rigorous and appropriate when using methods and approaches
5. To show global relevance
6. To interpret the insights based on outcomes

The research papers, national as well as international, must be submitted until July 18th, 2008.

The research studies that will be taken into account must be preferably related to:

- Patient Safety, Health Ethics or Primary Health Care.
- Add a 300-word abstract using the enclosed form.
- The works must not be written more than three years ago.
- They may be submitted in Spanish, English or Portuguese.

1.The topic is relevant and innovative.
2.The topic contributes to the discipline.
3.The topic is oriented to significant health problems for the Pan American region.
4.The investigation relates to themes of clinical nursing, or to themes related to health services and their relationship to nursing and outcomes.
5.The design is rigorous.
6.The sample is appropriate for the study.
7.The method is appropriate for the study.
8.The findings answer the study problem.
9.The conclusions and recommendations are appropriate.
10.The study presents recommendations that can be used in nursing practice or formation of health policy.
